Tall Ta Coconut is a traditional coconut variety widely cultivated in Vietnam, including Green Tall Ta and Red Tall Ta coconuts. This variety poses various prominent advantages, inclduding large fruits, thick copra, and high oil content, making it highly suitable for coconut oil production with high economic value in food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries. However, cultivation of Tall Ta coconuts faces multiple challenges in the quality of planting materials derived from seed nursery due to cross-pollination, resulting in quality degeneration and inconsistent yield. Therefore, it is essential to establish breeding and varietal improvement methods to ensure sustainable and efficient long-term cultivation.
